Made from super soft, mid-weight 100% merino wool, our kids leggings will help your little ones stay warm, dry, and comfortable throughout the day. They are ideal for keeping your child comfortable whether lounging at home or enjoying outdoor adventures. The soft merino fibers regulate body temperature, wick away moisture, and naturally resist odors.

Designed with long cuffs to accommodate growth, your child will enjoy multiple seasons of wear from a single size. Soft, flat seams are for extra comfort and less bulk, and knee patches for extended wear. When paired with the merino kids long-sleeve tops, whether worn alone or as base layers under other clothes, they are perfect for hiking, skiing, or exploring.

We pride ourselves on quality. Made with Woolmark and Oek-Tex 100 certified Australian merino wool, this is a sustainable natural product that is designed to be a smart and long-lasting investment in your child’s comfort and well-being.

  • Won’t wool itch my baby’s skin?

Absolutely not. We use only superfine merino wool, which unlike the traditional wool, feels like silk against baby’s delicate skin. In fact, because of its softness and unique breathability, it is perfect for treating conditions such as heat rash and eczema.

  • Isn’t merino wool too hot for warm temperatures/climates?

Our merino wool baby garments are lightweight and perfect for year-round wear. Merino helps naturally in regulating baby’s body temperature. It creates a micro-climate around them, gaining or losing heat as required to produce warmth in cold conditions and enhance cooling effects in warm conditions.

  • Woolino merino wool garments seems rather thin, should I worry whether it’ll keep my child warm?

Merino provides warmth without having to be bulky. Unlike traditional wool, the finesse of the Merino fiber allows for a very fine spun yarn and knit fabric. Because of the way fine Merino fibers are crimped together, it has greater density than other fibers, which allows it to retain heat better than other thicker fabric.

  • How do I know if my child is hot or cold?

Please check if your baby is hot or cold while sleeping by touching her tummy or behind her neck. Touching baby’s hands and feet are NOT good indications of their actual body temperature.

  • Do Woolino garments need to be washed before the first use?

No, it is not required to wash your Woolino garment prior wearing. When you wash it, please follow the care instructions carefully.

    • Why does wool smell when it gets wet?

There is an odor associated with wet wool, sometimes described as a "wet dog", "burned", or "perm" smell. This particular smell of wet wool is present because we use natural merino wool that has been minimally processed in order to preserve the lanolin content inside the wool.

Lanolin is naturally present in merino wool and is responsible for giving wool all of the great properties that we love: wicks away sweat, resists stains, feels soft to the touch, stays elastic, and resists bacteria and odors. Wool is a natural product. Even if you have multiple products, one may have a higher lanolin content than the other, accounting for a difference in smell.

You should not notice this smell at all when the product is completely dry. Over time, the smell will be less and less noticeable after washing as the lanolin content in the wool dissipates.

    • How to remove stains from wool?

Stains should be treated immediately. Do not apply any form of heat, as this tends to fix most stains making them more difficult to remove.
Rinse the stain immediately and thoroughly in cold water. Then, apply one of these two homemade stain remover mixtures that we recommend:

    1. The preferred option is a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and a few drops of white vinegar. Cover the stain with the mixture and allow the liquid to sit on the stain for at least an hour. Blot the stained area gently with a cloth before rinsing thoroughly with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
    2. Another option is a mixture of one part (1 Tsp) dish soap and two parts (2 Tsp) Hydrogen Peroxide (3%). Apply some of the mixture over the stain and let it sit for several hours. Wash afterwards as usual.

When ready to wash, check the product care tag for best results. Following our recommended care instructions will ensure the best possible wear while maintaining & prolonging the life of your Woolino.

Customer photo review of Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

Love the color and it seems pretty well made. The cuffs on the ankles and wrists are a little tight but other than that, pretty happy with purchase. Of course it seems to keep my kid warm!

Customer photo review of Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

Honestly the fit is great. I tried ordering from two other companies and had to return them so I was so happy to see how these fit. They work great under all of his pants. Very happy with Woolino as always

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

Beautiful but runs small. We got a 4T for my 2y/o hoping there was room to grow and they’re pretty snug throughout (28lbs, she’s not particularly large). The shirt fits like a 3T/4T, but pants are definitely slim.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Honey

These are so soft but very sturdy. My daughter is rough on clothes but these look brand new after weeks of constant wear. These will definitely be our new go-to longjohns. Wish they came in adult sizes!

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Honey

Softer than expected. Runs a bit small and tight. I ordered 3T for my 2 year old and I think I could’ve gone up to 4T. Very soft considering it’s wool. There was some complaints of mild itchiness from my kids but they quickly got over it and we were able to enjoy our day. I’d say these are totally with it and the colors are lovely

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

We love all Woolino products and have bought their blankets, pillows and base layers for our toddler. Its all such great quality, and just gives us a peace of mind when trying to keep our little one warm in the winter!

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Sage

It is so soft and we absolutely love it! Unfortunately sizing was a little off, the pants were significantly smaller than in other colors. However customer service is exceptional and we have sized up.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Sage

We love these base layers in all colors! They are easy to wash, fit great and keep extra warm. My son is able to take them down to use the potty himself still when he goes slowly too. Overall highly recommend as a base layer!

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

Quality is great, color is exact like the stock photos, and with room to grow. My 2.5 yr old is 25lbs, on the small side and the waistband fits her loose, but fits length wise. It's great for layering but not by itself. I can see her still wearing it for another year knowing the quality won't fail us. Great product. Satisfied with our first purchase.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Sage

We use these base layers as pajamas. They are simply the most comfortable and best way to keep my kids comfortable through any weather.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Sage

A perfect fit and the re-enforced knees are genius. I would love be able to buy the woolen dresses I used to get: please add them to your line! Lovely colors! Good work, beautiful construction. Dresses please!

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

Bought this for my grandson to keep him warm on his outdoor adventures. He also loves wearing it at home because the wool is so soft and comfortable. Great product.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Deep Blue

I really like the yellow color and material - reminds me of Smartwool 100 base layer. It's thin but you know it'll keep you toasty. Unfortunately this didn't work out for us (at least not yet) because my 15 month old is big for her age (25 pounds, and still has baby chub on her arms and legs). I bought the 2T. In general it fit, but the ankle part is too tight so it's hard to put on, and the entire length is quite tight in a way we don't like. We have this problem with a lot of clothes from many brands; we're not fans of ultra snug clothes which seems to be in style. Maybe if she gets slimmer as she gets older we'll try this again.

Kids Merino Wool Base Layer, Leggings, Honey

Been trying to decide if I should order the wool socks and base layer top and pants for a year now and went for it during a sale. The quality is amazing, material is so soft (your toddler will not complain it is itchy at all) and it will keep them so cozy and warm. Wish I had bought these things last winter! We had woolino sleep sacks and duvets for all our beds. The quality is incredible!
